Nut Shells as Adsorbents of Pollutants: Research and Perspectives

نویسندگان

چکیده

Shells, kernels, and other wastes have been investigated by researchers as potential adsorbents for a number of pollutants like methylene blue (MB), Remazol Rot RB, acid 80, 324, or raw materials the production activated carbons biochars to serve same objective. Activated formed such found remove different heavy metals uranium, arsenic, cadmium while their removed others lead copper. Furthermore, these can be combined with additional ways valorization this type waste bio-oil bio-gas generation even added-value extraction. In work, conducted research on ability pistachio, pecan, cashew nut, castor seed shells selectively adsorb thus from synthetic wastewaters is being shown. This needs expanded in order incorporate competitive adsorption, regeneration, recovery adsorbates evaluate performance real wastewaters, before they find way large scale applications removal respective compounds natural waters wastewaters. An appropriate life cycle assessment also necessary evaluation environmental benefits arising use.
